ORB FAQs

What are the most common RV, Toy Hauler & 5th Wheel mattresses sizes?

The most common bed size for RV's, Toy Hauler, and 5th Wheels is the queen short or short queen which usually measures either 60" x 75" or 60" x 74". These dimensions are also referred to as the RV Queen size. About 60% - 70% of the orders we receive tend to be for these dimensions.

Can I fit a standard queen you'd find in a mattress store in my RV or Toy Hauler?

It depends on the RV. Usually no. A standard residential queen measures approximately 60"x80" (5" longer than the 60"x75" size). Most RV's take the short queen size usually due to one or more of the slide-outs in the bedroom, room size and adjoining bathroom layout, furniture/fixture location, or because of gross weight limitations.

With that being said, there is a fair amount of RV, Toy Haulers, and 5th Wheels are designed to take a standard residential queen. You'll want to measure to see if you have any height limitations.

What RV, Toy Hauler and 5th Wheel mattress is right for me?

If you are not sure which RV, Toy Hauler, 5th Wheel mattress to go with, feel free to contact an expert at 623.455.4939.

The three important things to consider are the comfort, support, and durability.

  • Comfort: If you sleep on your back or stomach, or the mattress is being used as a guest bed, we'd recommend choosing a mattress with a medium-firm feel (not very hard and not very soft). If you tend to sleep on your back or you like sleeping on a carpeted floor, go with a firmer feel.
  • Support: All of our mattresses will support the average weight. If you're above average weight (250 lbs +), the thicker mattresses are going to use denser foams in the base and provide more layers to support this added weight.
  • Durability: The higher the quality level, the better the components being used. This translates to a longer life span. If the mattress is being used frequently or you'd like something more comfortable, we'd recommend going with a mid or upper-quality level.

    ORB SETUP AND CARE

Your new ORB mattress is compressed and rolled, then packaged in a box, before being shipped directly to you. Take the box to the location you wish to open your mattress. Remove the compressed mattress from the box, and carefully cut open the outer plastic wrapping of your mattress (A basic letter opener works great for this step). After the outer plastic has been removed, carefully cut or tear away the plastic covering on your mattress. It will immediately begin to expand. Once you’ve removed the plastic, set and position your mattress in its place and allow it to fully expand. It will be fully expanded and ready to use within minutes!

How long before I can sleep on my ORB mattress?

After you unwrap your new ORB mattress and set it up. You can sleep on it within 15-20 minutes. It can take up to 24 hours to fully fill in the corners.

How long can I keep my mattress in the box?

We recommend keeping your mattress in the box for no longer than three weeks after it has arrived at your door. While your mattress is safe to keep rolled for up to 30 days, compression beyond this period does hold some risk for slowing the expansion of your mattress. If you anticipate a delay in setting up your mattress, our team can delay shipping your mattress after purchase. Contact our customer service team for more information.

Does the ORB mattress have an odor?

There are no odors or smells any different than those you would encounter when buying a new couch or a new car. Since our beds are made to order, they are only boxed for a short amount of time and sent to you immediately, unlike other companies which store them warehouses or have them shipped from overseas, where they acquire container smells and become stale.

Our beds use only CertiPUR-US® foams so you can be rest assured there are no harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde, ozone depletes heavy metals and certain flame retardants. These foams meet CertiPUR-US® program standards for content and emissions and are analyzed by independent, accredited testing laboratories.

Can Sewn in handles be used to lift or transport the mattress?

No. Handles sewn into the side panels of select mattresses should never be used to lift or transport the mattress. The handles are designed to be decorative and should only be used on rare occasions for very slight adjustments to the mattress alignment. Handles are not included in the 10-year warranty. Mattresses cannot be returned or exchanged due to wear and tear or damage to the handles.
